LIMA — Clyde’s Kennedy Arndt was among the signees introduced on the campus of the University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Arndt, a Clyde High School standout, will join a Racer program that began softball in the spring of 2014 and competes at the NAIA level in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Arndt plays shortstop for the Fliers and is a 3-time All-SBC Honorable Mention player who has hit .304 for her career thus far with 58 RBIs. She is also a member of the national honor society, and her high school program was regional finalists and travel team won the ASA ‘A’ state championship.

Arndt hails from a softball family, as her mother was a standout at Shawnee State and sister Tayler is a sophomore at Rio Grande. Ardnt is the daughter of Brent and Heather Arndt and plans to major in Business Administration.

“We are thrilled to have Kennedy join the Racer family,” University of Northwestern Ohio coach Tracy Coffman said. “She has played at such a high level of ball for a number of years and we know that will really help her transition to the college level. She is very athletic and a true shortstop who will add immediate depth to our middle infield.”
