The Clyde Fliers boys tennis team won a pair of road matches last week.
On Thursday, the Fliers narrowly defeated conference rival Perkins at Perkins High School, 3-2.
In first singles, Clyde’s Nathan Strudthoff defeated Dhnaush Kota, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. In the second singles match, Perkins’ Yu Hang Chen defeated Cole Foos, 6-0, 6-1.
The Pirates’ Anthony Visci took the third singles match over Scott Clapp, 6-0, 6-2.
In first doubles, the Clyde duo of Noah and Caleb Prunty defeated Sean Bower and Michael Behm, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Clyde’s Alex Brandon and Jacob Strudthoff rolled to a dominating win over Kevin Sullivan and Jay Reiman in the second doubles match, 6-0, 6-0.
This past Monday, the Fliers traveled to Fremont to take on Ross and swept all five matchs to win, 5-0.
Nathan Strudthoff won the first singles match for the Fliers over Alexander Thatcher in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. Caleb Prunty took the second singles match, also in straight sets, over Trevor Weikert, 6-2, 6-4.
Jacob Strudthoff also took the third singles match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1, over Marshal Kuieck.
In first doubles, Noah Prunty and Brandon defeated Samuel Long and Brandon Richter, 6-1, 6-3, while Foos and Clapp took the second doubles over Lucas Cronin and Ethan Moyer, 5-7, 6-4, 10-4.
