The Clyde boys tennis team shutout Oak Harbor last Tuesday afternoon in a Sandusky Bay Conference matchup at Clyde High School.
In the first singles match, Clyde’s Nathon Strudthoff won a tough match over Dane Puckett, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (5). Caleb Prunty defeated Bo Hermes in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 to take the second singles match.
Jacob Strudthoff took the third singles match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, over the Rockets’ Holden Pelz.
Clyde’s dominance continued in doubles play as well.
The Flier duo of Noah Prunty and Alex Brandon won the first doubles match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, over Zach Smith and Quinn Bodnar. In the second doubles match, Clyde’s Cole Foos and Scott Clapp made short work of the Oak Harbor duo of Chris McClanahan and Logan Segaard, 6-2, 6-3.
With the win, the Fliers improved to 11-3 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
