After a long stretch of time off the Clyde boys basketball team returned to action over the weekend and may have shown a bit of rust as the Fliers dropped two games.
On Friday night, the Fliers traveled to Edison for an Sandusky Bay Conference matchup with the Chargers. Edison won, 73-56.
A rough second quarter for Clyde allowed the Chargers to take control of the game by halftime. The Fliers were outscored 21-8 in the quarter and trailed Edison, 39-22 at the half.
Another strong quarter by the Chargers put the game away, and entering the fourth quarter the Fliers found themselves trailing 61-36.
Conner Long led the Fliers with 14 points on the night, including two 3-pointers. Tanner Davenport chipped in 12 points, with two 3s of his own.
Seth Hohman rounding out the Fliers who reach double digits in point with 12, also knocking down two 3s.
On Saturday, the Fliers took on Shelby and fell, 63-30.
The Whippets jumped out to a 24-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Zach Rieman led the Fliers in scoring in the game with 12 points. Hohman added seven and had the Fliers lone 3-pointer in the game.
Shelby had a balance offensive attack, with four different players reaching double digits in scoring. Davey Hipp led the Whippets with 13 points.
Shelby knocked down 8 3s in the game.
