The Fliers faced some tough competition last week when they faced Tiffin and Perkins and were unable to pull out a much needed first win of the season.
Last Wednesday, the Fliers hosted Tiffin and lost, 46-44, in a game that literally went to the last second of the game.
With five minutes left in the first quarter the Fliers were up by three, 7-4. The teams went back and forth, but by the end of the half Tiffin was up by two, 25-23.
Coming out in the second half, the Fliers played their best yet and tied the game with just 11 seconds left when Zach Rieman connected on a 3-pointer to knot things up at 44.
Tiffin scored the winning basket on a field goal as time expired.
Rieman led the Fliers with 13 point, while Conner Long and Tanner Davenport each added nine. Lucas Nicely added seven points, while Jake Jenne added four.
On Saturday night, Clyde traveled to Perkins and fell to the Pirates, 59-46.
Rieman again was top shooter on the night ending the game with a total of 18 points. Long added 12, and Jenne finished with seven.
The Fliers will host Oak Harbor Friday night with the JV game beginning at 5:3o p.m. The Fliers will then host Edison on Tuesday, with the freshman game beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Clyde High School.
